Duct cross-section
To transport the air from the treatment unit to the point of use and back, a fan and air lines or ducts are required. In terms of design, space requirements, pressure loss and noise development must be optimised. With high air flow rates, a high quantity of air is transported through narrow ducts but high pressure losses and a high level of noise development have to be accepted. The pressure loss increases quadratically with the air flow rate and therefore also the energy consumption of the fan.
Reasonable values are between 4 and 8 m/s, depending on the permissible noise load.
